We loved our time in the immersive room. First, we looked at the planets, then the changing seasons and finally relaxed to music while being under the water. A lovely immersive experience.

We loved cooking our cheesy ham and broccoli pasta today. The banoffee pie was delicious too. All students helped with the meal preparation and with the washing up and tidying away. 

Students enjoyed learning about the role of the student and eco council representatives. They learned about voting and then took part in an election for student and eco council. They voted using their ballot papers. 

Another triumph in the kitchen this week. KS5W loved making pizza bases and then they chose and added their toppings. They also made a beautiful mint chocolate Aero cheesecake. They were both delicious. Afterwards everyone helped with tidying up. What a lovely…

KS5H have been learning about graffiti and considering if it is street art or vandalism. They have researched this area, looked at graffiti in their locality and surveyed their peers for their thoughts. They have created their own graffiti for a display.

KS5W really enjoyed engaging in a sensory story about War Horse. Students were able to use their senses to explore  a range of different items including straw, wool, milk, saddle soap, polish, leather. There was lots of good speaking and listening and some students were able to ask each other…

We loved our sunny,  autumn walk to the local shops and time on the park. We bumped into some of our friends too. What a lovely afternoon. We practiced road safety, and personal safety in the community. We also practiced our skills in maths, communication and independence when shopping and paying…

KS5W created a scrumptious feast of sausage, tomato and cheese pasta, followed by lemon drizzle cake and custard. Everyone agreed it was the best sausage pasta they had ever tasted and the most delicious cake! Each student contributed to the cooking and cleaning. It was a great team…

Happy Friday everyone!!

We started off the day with our Friday dance, and later on our friends from KS5S joined us for a French breakfast. Everyone sat around the table, had a snack and drink and a good chat about our week.

We love Fridays!!

Students really enjoyed their bus trip to the cafe. They took care of their own money, spoke to the cashier to order their drinks, handed over money, waited for their change and receipts and said thank you. It was lovely to see our students practicing their number, communication and self…

We are reading War Horse and learning about horses and horse care. One of our team brought in a couple of old racing exercise saddles which our students had a go at cleaning with saddle soap.
