Each week our KS3S class focus on a different “core word of the week” and staff model using this word across the curriculum. This week’s word is “help”. Students and staff have used core boards, AAC, Makaton sign and spoken word to offer and request “help” in different contexts. As well as using the newly learnt word of the week, students are encouraged to use and revisit previously taught vocabulary to ensure maintenance of skills and continue broadening the range of contexts they can use the words in.
